She holds a Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics Honours from the University of Wollongong, and has worked in the health and fitness industry since 2012. Michelle is also qualified as a personal trainer so has a well-rounded view of nutrition, fitness and general health. Michelle practises a client-centred approach, offering advice tailored for the individual, whilst providing support and motivation to assist her clients in making sustainable lifestyle changes to optimise their health and performance. Whilst she consults on general nutrition issues including healthy eating, food intolerances, diabetes management and cardiovascular health, a lifelong involvement in team and individual sports has resulted in Michelle having a passion for all things sports nutrition. She has gained experience in the high performance environment having previously worked with the St George Illawarra Dragons NRL and the NSW Waratahs Super Rugby teams. She has also conducted research investigating the dietary intake quality of adolescent athletes, which she presented at the 2015 Dietitians Association of Australia National Conference. Michelle has extensive experience in assisting endurance athletes to reach their performance goals and also has an interest in adaptive sports. Michelle believes that a healthy balanced diet and regular physical activity are fundamental to wellness and the prevention of injury and disease. Additionally, she sees food as more than just energy and nutrients, being also a source of enjoyment and pleasure. To keep fit and active, Michelle trains for and participates in triathlons, which she loves just as much as chocolate. Michelle is a member of the Dietitians Association of Australia, Sports Dietitians Australia and Fitness Australia. |
